Air travel is part of the everyday life for a development consultant - with increased CO2 emission as a sad consequence. Bente Consulting compensates for this through contribution to DOF (Danish Ornithologist Association). DOF - in collaboration with BirdLife International, WWF and Wetlands International invests in areas with high potential for CO2-absorption and birdlife protection. In 2012, the distance travelled by air was 105.209 km = approx. 21 t CO2 emission, which was compensated by DKK 3,600. Read more about CO2 compensation in DOF (in Danish).

In September - October 2012, I was working for Swedish Cooperative Center in Niassa Province, Mozambique, where I desiged and undertook a baseline study for the new civil society program (ARENA). The program will focus on agriculture and natural resources management and civil society’s role in demanding accountability.
The assignment also included the elaboration of a monitoring plan for the program. The reports were finalized in November after receiving comments from SCC.
Diamantino Nhampossa, SCC Representative in Mozambique wrote: "I wish to thank you for having done this work. We have learned a lot of things and your inputs are going to help improve the design and implementation of the ARENA."
